Police in neighboring Zambia have arrested four secondary school pupils in connection with the murder of another male juvenile aged 17.
This publication has learnt that the four are aged between 16 and 19 years, all believed to be secondary school pupils from Twin Palm School while the deceased, Ryan Phiri is said to be from a separate local school by the name Kabulonga Secondary, all located in the country’s capital, Lusaka.
According to the country’s police spokesperson, Esther Katongo, the incident happened on the 4th December.
“On 4th December, 2020 Ryan Phiri aged 17 is alleged to have been attacked by a group of people believed to be grade 12 pupils from Twin Palm Secondary School and Golf Sticks were allegedly used in the act and he later died at UTH,” police spokesperson Esther Katongo said.
The police managed to identify the four and a search led to their arrest. Names of the suspects have been withheld from public’s attention but are said to be from Lusaka’s Mtendere Compound, Kabulonga and Twin Palm locations.
Katongo added that a fifth suspect is currently on the run and police are putting in effort to trace his whereabouts.
