US rapper, Lil Wayne could find himself behind bars for up to 10 years after his sentence that is set for 28 January next year.
This after he pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm which is seen as a serious offence for an ex-convict like him.
Lil Wayne, real name Dwayne Michael Carter Jr was found in possession of a gun loaded with a few rounds during a police search on his plane late last year in Miami.
Also found in the plane was what the police believed to be cocaine, marijuana, heroin, painkillers and cash amounting to $25 000.
But that wasn’t reported as part of the virtual trial he stood quite recently, according to US papers.
The only serious offence reported and was charged was one on possession of a firearm.
This because sometime a decade ago, the 38-year-old rapper was charged on the same federal crime charges.
Since he pleaded guilty, and as a repeating offender, US papers claim he could face up to 10 years in prison.
Late this year, Faceofmalawi reported that Lil Wyne came out in full support of the former US President Donald Trump during the election time.
Just had a great meeting with @realdonaldtrump @potus besides what he’s done so far with criminal reform, the platinum plan is going to give the community real ownership. He listened to what we had to say today and assured he will and can get it done. 🤙🏾 pic.twitter.com/Q9c5k1yMWf

This was before the controversial US president lost the disputed elections to the president-elect, Joe Biden.
Another rapper who recently showed support for Donald Trump is rapper Ice Cube despite being labelled a sell-out by black America.
