The New Orleans Police Department has declared a man wanted for committing “unnatural sex acts with two horses.”
Police say the animal abuse incident happened at around 2:15 a.m. at stables on Filmore Ave. in New Orleans City Park on Tuesday, December 15.
“An unknown male wearing a striped shirt with a distinctive tattoo on his right arm entered a cluster of stables in the 1000 block of Filmore Avenue and committed unnatural sex acts with two horses,” the New Orleans Police Department announced Wednesday, including images of the young man sought with their post.
One of the horses belongs to Orleans Parish Sheriff Marlin Gusman’s office, according to Nola.com. It’s unclear who owns the other.
The suspect is wanted on a felony charge of sexual abuse of an animal, a crime created by a state anti-bestiality law passed in 2018. It carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison and a fine of up to $2,000 for a first offense.
Convicted offenders are also forbidden from living or working with animals and must undergo psychological evaluation and treatment at their own expense.
