Government has reduced a number of public gatherings to 100 as the new wave of Covid-19 is looming.
Addressing the media yesterday, the Presidential Taskforce on Covid-19 said the conclusion has been reached following the recent hike in Covid-19 cases the country is registering.
The effect was with immediate of which is applying to all events that attracts huge gatherings including churches, shows and football games.
In his remarks, Minister of Information Gospel Kazako appealed to Malawians to adhere to the new Covid-19 precaution Measures.
He also urged people to continue practicing social distancing, masking up and wash hands to alt the spread of the virus which has killed at least 180 people in the country.
During the festive season, Kazako has urged people to try their best and stay at home.
For the past months, Malawi has been registering few or no cases which resulted in relaxation in following and adhering to Covid-19 precaution measures.
