28 year old man has been arrested for threatening to shoot his wife over marital disputes in Dembanthuli village, Nkhatabay.
The man identified as Ackim Mphande had a quarrel with his wife Lucy Manda on December 21, 2020 over marital issues.
In the course of quarrelling, Mphande lost his temper and left the scene entering into his house where he came out with an antique riffle with intentions to shoot his wife to death.
Sensing danger, father to the wife who was around, intervened and managed to seize the riffle which was surrendered to police.
The suspect escaped immediately.
Few days later the suspect appeared in the village and well-wishers tipped the police.
Following the tip, Mphande was arrested and formally charged with acts intended to cause grievous harm.
