Latest report indicate that cases of typhoid in Neno district have jumped from 51 to 59 today.

Neno District Hospital Public Relations Officer, Caroline Banda has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.

According to Banda, the figures are likely to rise as the outbreak has now reached areas of all the four traditional authorities of Neno.

More tests are being conducted.

It is also reported that water sources at Chakulembera village in the area of Senior Chief Dambe have been contaminated with Samonera.

Ministry of Health is yet to comment on the development.
