A 21 year-old man identified as Mwayiwawo Nkhoma, has been arrested for allegedly defiling a 12 year-old girl in Nkhotakota district.
According to the police in the district, the suspect entered into the victim’s bedroom while she was asleep and forced himself onto her.
Thereafter, the suspect promised to buy the victim some clothes if she will not reveal the ordeal to anyone.
However, the victim revealed about the ordeal to her father who reported to Nkhotakota police where the victim was taken to Nkhotakota district hospital for medical examination and treatment.
The suspect is expected to appear before Nkhotakota first grade magistrate court soon to answer charges of defilement which is contrary to section 138 of the penal code.
Nkhoma, hails from Ntcharamira village in the area of Traditional Authority Nkhanga in the district.
