Malawi has registered its first Cholera case for 2020/2021 Cholera season and is reported to be from the commercial City of Blantyre.

Ministry of Health Spokesperson Joshua Malango has confirmed of the development.

Malango said the case is from a three year old baby.

According to Malango the baby is from Chirimba and was admitted at Chileka Isolation Center on January 3 and was discharged on January 6.

Malango says the ministry continues to monitor the situation and is urging all to strictly observe preventive measures to stop spread of diarrhoea diseases such as Cholera.
