Man Jailed 3 Years For Stealing Motorcycle In Dowa

The Dowa First Grade Magistrate’s Court has convicted and sentenced a 19-year-old man to 36 months imprisonment with hard labour for stealing a motorcycle.
The court through state prosecutor Joseph Banda heard that Phillip Nkhoma stole the motorcycle last November.
Valued at K440, 000 the unregistered Lifan motorcycle belonged to Noah Sainani of Chiponda Village in Traditional Authority Chiwere in the district.
Appearing before court, the convict pleaded guilty to a charge of theft of motorcycle contrary to Section 282 of the Penal Code.
