Police in Lilongwe have arrested Christopher Munthuwa a 20-year old man on suspicion that he defiled a 2-year old daughter of his tenant.
Munthuwa committed the offence on Thursday in Area 36.
It is said the mother sent her daughter to borrow a comb from the landlord’s house.
After using it, the mother sent the daughter back to return the comb.
To her surprise the daughter was taking so long and this prompted the mother to find out.
She then saw the child coming out of one of the bedrooms of the landlord’s house and had some strange things on her private parts.
She reported to Area 36 Police Unit and was issued with a referral letter to the hospital where defilement was confirmed.
Police arrested Munthuwa for allegedly defiling the child.
He will appear in court to answer to a defilement charge.
The suspect comes from Malengachanzi area in Nkhotakota.
