The department of Immigration and Citizenship Services has temporarily closed its headquarters offices in Blantyre following a confirmed positive case of the global pandemic Coronavirus.

According to a statement seen by this publication the offices will be temporarily closed from Tuesday, January, 12 to 14 for disinfection and allowing staff to go for a Covid-19 test.

“The department of immigration and Citizenship Services wishes to inform the general public that its headquarters offices in Blantyre will be closed from Tuesday January, 12 to Thursday, January 14,” read the statement.

The statement continued “This is to allow all staff to be tested for Covid-19, and personnel form the Ministry of Health to carry out a disinfection exercise of the offices.”

According to the statement, the office will resume its operations on Monday January, 18, 2021.
