Leader of Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) Prophet Shepherd Bushiri has said he has been living in peace since he came back from South Africa where he and his wife Mary fled.

Speaking with the media, Bushiri said the Malawi government has not been tossing him around or demanding money from him as it was the case in the Rainbow Nation for his freedom.

According to Bushiri, the time he was in South Africa he was fearing for his life as he was receiving death threats and on several times he had escaped death as people planned to have him killed.

Bushiri has since commended the Malawi Government for always upholding the rule of law by ensuring that the Constitution is respected at all times.

Prophet Shepherd Bushiri left South Africa late last year for what alleged consistent death threats from the South African authorities following the money laundering and other charges leveled against him for almost two years.

Bushiri and his wife bolted South Africa few days after the couple was granted bail by the Pretoria Magistrate Court after spending over two weeks in custody.

How the couple fled South Africa remains unknown, following the development South African government has been trying by all means to have Bushiri and his wife extradited to their country.

However, Malawi government has said it will do what is right according to the laws of the land.
