Two people, have been arrested in Dowa for allegedly failing to observe Covid-19 prevention regulations in bars they run.

The two have been identified as Patience Bituta aged 23 from Congo and Samuel Deleleyu aged 27.

They both are refugees at Dzaleka Camp.

It is said that the two, were arrested by Officer In-charge for Dowa Police Station Rhoda Manjolo  when she visited the camp today to see  if the bar owners are adhering to Covid-19 preventive measures.

During the visit, it was observed that the two failed to observe the Covid19 rules and regulations in their pubs a development that led to their arrest.

Dowa Police Spokesperson Gladson M’bumpha, says the suspects will appear before court soon to answer charges of failing to comply with Covid-19 Rules and Regulations.
