Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA) has donated medical equipment worth K35 million to the Ministry of Health through Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital (QECH).
According to MACRA Board Chair Dr. Stanley Khaila said the donation follows the declaration by the President Lazarus Chakwera that the country is in a state of national disaster.
The donation made include 100 oxygen cylinders and oxygen to fill 100 cylinders and Personal Protection Equipment for frontline workers.
Khaila further reminded the general public that the fight against Covid-19 s for each and every Malawian.
He further urged that it is the responsibility of every person to protect themselves and those surrounding them from testing positive for the virus.
Meanwhile, France based Malawian Onjezani Kenani has also embarked on an initiative of raising funds to help the country’s major hospitals by equipping them with necessary equipment in the fight against Coronavirus.
