Girls aged 12 to 14 stabbed a 15-year-old girl to death in a Walmart and posted live videos from the dreadful scene.
On Saturday, four girls stabbed a teenage girl to death inside the Lake Charles Walmart. According to police records, the attackers were a 12-year-old, two 13-year-olds, and a 14-year-old. Their appalling actions led to a 15-year-old’s death. As Daily Mail reports, the victim died at a hospital shortly after the stabbing.
Prior to the horrific event, the juveniles were spotted in the store’s kitchen aisle. They allegedly stole a knife and used it to kill the teen.
Moreover, they posted the whole encounter on Facebook and Instagram live. The footage reveals that one of the girls, 13, was armed with a knife.
Furthermore, a surveillance photograph released by authorities shows the same girl fleeing the store after the incident. Other videos show the group running out of the market and getting into a car whose driver remains unknown. While doing so, one of them can be heard screaming:
“Just stabbed somebody at Walmart. We just stabbed that b***h in her heart. We don’t give a f**k.”
One of the 13-year-olds received a second-degree murder charge for killing the 15-year-old.
The identities of the attackers and the victim have not been publicly released. The motive for the murder is also unrevealed. However, the police allege that the confrontation began at a nearby movie theater.
One of the girls received charges for second-degree murder. The other ones were arrested on charges accusing them of being principals to second-degree murder. The group is currently booked into the juvenile detention center.
During a press conference, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff Tony Mancuso stated:
“They stole knives from the actual store where they were at. It is really heartbreaking when we have to come in and pick up the pieces because so many families are damaged after this. Our whole case unfolded before us through live Facebook and Instagram… we have videos of everything that took place and it’s very disturbing.”
According to Mancuso, there was no remorse since “the whole murder was played out on (social media).” The sheriff also noted this was “the third homicide in sox months” involving juveniles in the area. Urging the parents to “take control,” he added:
“It was very cold to see 12, 13, 14 and 15-year-olds acting this way and we as a society can’t tolerate it. We cannot let this plague and take over our community.”
