POLICE spokesperson Kauna Shikwambi has confirmed the arrest of a prominent Swapo politician at Okahandja for the alleged rape of a 21-year-old woman.
The suspect is expected to appear in the Okahandja Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday or Thursday morning.
The Namibian understands that the Otjiwarongo police’s Women and Child Protection Unit is investigating the case after the victim laid charges.
It is alleged that the suspect on several occasions drugged and then had sexual intercourse with her.
