The body of son to former President Dr. Joyce Banda, Geoffrey Kachale Banda will be laid to rest today at Area 18 cemetery in the capital Lilongwe.

Geoffrey Kachale Banda died of COVID-19 on Wednesday at Bingu National Stadium (BNS) Covid-19 field hospital.

It is said that Kachale Banda had been admitted to the facility since its opening four days ago.

According to a program seen by this publication, the funeral ceremony will start at 12:00 noon and all COVID-19 guidelines and protocol will be followed.

Vigil is currently taking place in Area 43 House Number 330
