President Lazarus Chakwera today visited former president Joyce Banda at her residence to convey his condolences to the former president and her husband, retired Chief Justice Richard Banda following the death of their son Geoffrey Kachale Banda.
Geoffrey died of COVID-19 at Bingu National Stadium Isolation centre on Wednesday and was laid to rest on Thursday in Lilongwe.
State Vice Dr. Saulos Chilima represented the President at the funeral.
He survived by a wife and four children.
