Senior Resident Magistrate Shyreen Chirwa has committed to the High Court, the 5.1 billion kwacha cement case involving former Statehouse chief of staff Peter Mukhito, former MRA deputy Commissioner General Roza Mbirizi, Norman Chisale, former security aide to Peter Mutharika and businessman Shafee Chunara.

The four have since been officially informed of their charges.

They have been charged with 7 counts which are boardering on fraud, money laundering, abuse of office, knowingly use of documents inorder to deceive, smuggling and aiding smuggling.

The four tampered with Mutharika’s TPN to import at least K5.1billion worth of duty free cement into the country.

Meanwhile the Judge is expected to to set a date when the case can commence.
