Following the high court’s ruling which nullified parliamentary seats for Chikwawa East, Nsanje North and Nsanje Central, the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) held an interface meeting which aimed at strategizing for campaign ahead of by-elections.

Last week the High Court in Blantyre nullified the May 19, 2019 parliamentary seats and ordered that fresh elections should be held with 60 days.

MCP Director of Campaign, Moses Kunkuyu, said the move was to find safer ways of conducting campaign amid Covid-19 pandemic.

Kunkuyu said the party realizes that the world is sailing through tough times due to the pandemic and there is need to find safer ways of selling their candidates without exposing the electorate to the risk of spreading or contracting Coronavirus.

He added that MCP is of the view that victory was stolen from their candidates hence the recently ordered court nullifications in some constituencies.
