Centre for Democracy and Economic Development Initiatives (CDEDI) has said they take unspecified action if there will be no clearance in the next 48 hours on how 6.2 billion kwacha covid-19 funds was used.

Executive Director for CDEDI Sylvester Namiwa said this while giving President Lazarus Chakwera 48 hours to explain the infamous K6.2 billion DODMA scandal.

Ironically Chakwera on Sunday evening during his weekly Covid-19 address gave DODMA 48 hours to explain and account for every money they used.

Namiwa said that people have lost trust in how the Tonse led administration is using the Covid-19 funds.

“As you can see people are channeling money to Onjezani Kenani because that person accounts for every penny he receives unlike the government. They are failing to explain to us on how they have used the K6.2 billion,” Namiwa Said.

Namiwa then warned the president that if he does not explain to the nation how that money was used he will face unspecified action from his organisation and other individuals.

The issue of covid19 K6.2 billion report that the president announced two weeks ago has steered controversy as the amount being mentioned does not tally with what is happening on the ground.
