An organisation called There Is Hope, based at Dzaleka Refuguee camp, has donated 10 Oxygen Cylinders to Dowa District Hospital worth about K5 million.
This has been made possible with support from a USA based organisation called God’s Economy.
Deputy Executive Director for There Is Hope, Catherine Chirwa, says they have donated the equipment as one way of helping government in the fight against Covid-19.
Meanwhile, Director of Health and Social Services for Dowa District Hospital, Peter Makoza, has hailed the donation, saying it will help to ease challenges they have been facing in the fight against the pandemic.
Last month President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera declared state of disaster and called for help from well-wishers in the fight against COVID-19 which has claimed over 900 people.
Following the call, a number of organizations and companies have come forward to donates various items toward COVID-19 fight and one of such companies is Old Mutual Malawi.
