Nagasaki Prefecture has received five applications from operators wishing to participate in the development of a casino resort as part of IR projects in Japan. Such places include live dealer casino holdem in the offline mode and lots of other options for gamblers and just people who want to feel new emotions and try their luck.

The authorities’ plans to create three integrated resorts in Japan are gaining popularity. The application process for the IR-resort development was completed at the end of January. The prefecture noted that five operators are on the wish list: Pixel Company, which is partnering with Groupe Partouche, Casinos Austria in cooperation with Oshidori International Development, Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment, and consortium Get Nice Holdings and Current Corp.

Applicants will have to pass the initial examination, the deadline for submission of documents, which is set until March 1. After the second stage of selection the number of operators will be reduced to three applicants. And only the best one will win.

Meanwhile, as part of the IR project in Osaka, they are developing the idea of Super City, where they want to use artificial intelligence. The prefecture is accepting proposals and concepts from applicants until February 26.

Meanwhile, Yokohama, which joined the RFC process following the example of Osaka and Nagasaki, is planning to allocate 360 million yen from the city budget in 2021. They will be used to find private sector IR partners and to develop promotional activities.

There have been recent changes in the field of IR in Japan. One key change is that the central government now plans to be directly involved in negotiations between local authorities and potential private resort partners. This process will take place through the central IR promotion headquarters of Japan.
