Malawi Congress Party Diaspora Network (MCPDN) has donated assorted Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) worth K2 million to Mwanza district hospital in the wake of the novel Coronavirus pandemic.

Among the donation, were facemasks, face shields, disposal overalls as well as hand groves.

Chairperson of the Diaspora network Chalo Mvula, said they choose Mwanza hospital because the district hold a busy border.

“As MCP diaspora members, we thought it wise to help our country in fighting the pandemic hence the donation. We choose Mwanza district because we are aware that most of the South African returnees use this border hence the need to equip it,” Mvula said.

Mvula added that “The donation mainly targets frontline health workers to make sure medics at all times fit, safe and up to taking care of Covid-19 patients.”

On her part, Mwanza director of health services Dr Ireen Zuze, applauded the group for the timely donation, saying they will be helped much when dealing with Covid-19 cases.

The delegation to Mwanza hospital was led by MCP campaign director Moses Kunkuyu who was accompanied by Charles Burton a representative of the group in Malawi.
