Police in Zimbabwe have apologized for detaining a woman and two minors at a cell in the capital, Harare.

A picture of the trio standing at the holding cells of Rhodhesville police station went viral on social media.

In a statement, the police said investigations were ongoing to “find out what really happened”.

“This unfortunate incident will not be allowed to happen again. We appeal to members of the public to allow the police to conduct investigations so that appropriate decisions can be made,” the statement said.
