In South Africa, the husband of a presenter at Lesedi FM, Dimakatso Ratselane has been arrested for allegedly stabbing her several times last week.
Free State police spokesperson Brig Motantsi Makhele said the 39-year-old suspect was nabbed while in hiding in Gauteng after a warrant of his arrest was issued.
“Within 24 hours after his warrant of arrest was issued, the team worked around the clock, following all leads, until early hours of this morning when they followed intelligence-driven information which led them to a house in Gauteng.
This morning the Free State team, supported by Soweto Flying squad, arrived at a house in Ennerdale where they found the suspect in hiding, he said.
“He was taken into police custody and will appear in court soon to face a charge of attempted murder,” said Makhele.
Free State police commissioner Lieut-Gen Baile Motswenyane thanked the team of police for their hard work.
“Our gratitude goes to our team for all their efforts in making sure that we get the perpetrator behind bars. All information from our communities is appreciated as it also played a vital role, and I would like to thank them for that as well,” said Motswenyane.
