Police in Mponela, Dowa have arrested a 35-year-old man for allegedly pouring hot water on his wife’s body who subsequently sustained serious burns.
Mponela Police Spokesperson Sergeant Macpatson Msadala conformed of the development.
According to Msadala, the suspect, Gerald Banda accused his wife of infidelity after she allegedly sent away her children from the couple’s house to call in another man on Valentine’s Day.
Msadala said this happened while the husband was away.
Meanwhile, the woman is in pain at Madisi Mission Hospital where she is receiving treatment.
The suspect comes from Saulosi Village, TA Kayembe in the district.
