The state has applied for revocation of bail for Norman Chisale, a bodyguard to former President Peter Mutharika in case where he is accused of attempting to kill a woman in Blantyre.

Senior state advocate Pilirani Masanjala has told the court that the state wants the bail to be revoked because Chisale was interfering with witnesses.

However, Noel Maere, one of the lawyers for Chisale has asked the court to order the state to make a formal application so that the defense can be given a chance to respond formally.

But Masanjala has told the court that he is making a formal application.

He added that the nature of the application merits the court to deal with the application now since there witnesses are still in the public.

He told the court that the remaining witness are a medical officer and a witness who is at large.

Meanwhile the case has been adjourned to 2pm
