As the fight against the global pandemic is being intensified, there is still hope that the country will overcome following recent reports which are showing that people who have recovered from the virus are more that those still infected.

Yesterday, covid-19 recoveries were 588 against the new cases registered which were 146 and 6 fatalities.

Minister of Health Khumbize Kandodo Chiponda expressed excitement with the development saying that there is hope for the country to win the battle.

“Today, our data indicates that our recoveries have surpassed the 14,000 mark and our positivity rate is declining and this is giving hope to the COVID-19 fight,” said Chiponda.

She further urged community and religious leaders to take a leading role in ensuring that communities are well informed on the importance of adhering the preventive and containment measure.

“The fight against COVID-19 to be successful, we need to our community and religious leaders to take a leading role by educating the public and also ensuring that the community, social and religious activities are being conducted with strict COVID-19 measures in place,” she said.

She further suggested that leaders should act as role models and be the ones in the fore front in adhering to Covid-19 preventive measures.
