In a bid to combat the further spread of Covid-19, Save the Children has donated assorted medical items to Mwanza District Hospital worth K15 million.
Area Operations Manager for the organization, Thoko Bema, said the gesture has been made with special interest of protecting children.
He said the donation is under European Union Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid (Echo) project.
Director of Health and Social Services for Mwanza District, Ireen Zuze, commended Save the Children, saying the donation will help in combating and managing the pandemic.
Meanwhile, acting District Commissioner for Mwanza, Earnest Kadzokoya, has called upon people to observe Covid-19 preventive measures and to seek medication in time once they feel the signs of the disease.
