One of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) youth cadets Alex Mawaya will appear in court today for formal charges.
Mawaya was arrested on Monday for leading a group of thugs to attack some DPP to officials who were holding a media briefing at Crown Hotel in the capital Lilongwe.
Lilongwe Police spokesperson Joseph Kachikho confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.
According to Kachikho, law enforcers are haunting for other suspects.
Some of the top officials who were attacked by the youth cadets include;Francis Mphepo, Chimwemwe Chipungu, Charles Mhango and Brown Mpinganjira.
The cadets accused the four of plotting to fire DPP Vice President for the South Kondwani Nankhumwa.
