Three people have died following a road accident in Chikwawa District.
This comes less than a month after two women were also killed in another accident near Thabwa.
According to Chikwawa Police spokesperson, Dickson Matemba, the accident occurred on Monday February 22 at Kulima Village along the Ngabu-Nchalo stretch of the M1 road.
A minibus, Toyota hiace, was coming from Ngabu headed for Nchalo and upon arrival at the accident place, the minibus driver tried to use emergency break to avoid hitting the vehicle that was in front, which had reduced speed to give way to animals which were crossing the road.
Since the minibus was speeding, it swerved to the side lane and overturned several times, leaving the driver and two passengers dead while others escaped with various degrees of injuries and are currently receiving medical treatment at Ngabu Health Centre.
