Mulanje Bale Parliamentarian Victor Musowa has walked out of Parliament saying he would come back when students resume learning.

Musowa’s reaction follows the sit in strike by teachers across the country demanding Covid-19 risk allowances.

He further added that he will pay back the allowances for the days he will be out of Parliament.

According to Musowa it is unfair for members of Parliament, whose kids are studying abroad or in glamorous schools in the country, to be discussing issues in Parliament when sons and daughters of poor Malawians are not learning because teachers are demanding risk allowances.

However, Leader of the House Richard Chimwendo Banda has advised Musowa against boycotting Parliament, adding that the opposition should not politicize teachers’ strike.
