One of the law enforcement agencies in the country Ant- Corruption Bureau ( ACB) says corruption prevention reporting would help the government to save the country’s resources.

ACB public relations officer Agrita Ndala made the sentiments during one day media orientation in Mulanje in collaboration with Blantyre Press Club.

Ndala says she observes that Media practitioners have a role to play in changing poeple’s mindset and perception by reporting more on corruption prevention.

” Prevention is better than cure.we are here to implore media practitioners across the country to write more stories on corruption prevention to change public perception ” said Ndala adding that media practitioners focus much on investigation and prosecution reporting.

Ndala further said media should be caution when reporting on investigation for alleged corrupt practice saying sometimes this jorpadise their work and the whole process of investigation.

“Suspects are part of the public.we would love to report to the public when all is completed. This is the reason sometimes we give little information to the public in view of that,” she explained.

Blantyre Press Club ( BPC) President Blessings Kanache said the training will help the cub- reporters to do their work professionally when reporting corrupt related cases.

During the training,Ndala outlined numerous challenges the bureau is facing which include lack of resources, interference from the stakeholders, public and politicians, lack of the specialized trainings for the bureau staff members among others.
