A sex-starved 61-year-old man from Binga in Zimbabwe is reported to have committed suicide after his wife caught him having sex with one of his cows in the family’s Kraal.

iHarare reports that the man left his wife in the blankets early in the morning to go a have a quickie with a cow, however, the wife followed him and caught him in the act.

Inspector Glory Banda who is the Matabeleland North provincial police spokesperson confirmed the incident saying:

“I can confirm a sudden death report involving a Binga man Joseph Tshuma from Kamwindi Village in Lusulu who hanged himself on 16 February 2021 after being caught by his wife, Senzeni Sibanda, committing bestiality with a cow. Since no foul play was suspected, a post-mortem was waived by Binga magistrate,” she said.

According to villagers in Kamwindi where the incident took place, on that fateful day, 61-year-old Tshuma woke up at around 6 am and told his wife that he was going to the Kraal to check on the cattle.

When he arrived at the Kraal he allegedly tied one cow to a pole and went on to commit bestiality.

His wife followed him to the Kraal moments later as she also wanted to check on one of the bulls that was sick. Upon arrival, villagers said the wife got the shock of her life when she saw his husband busy sexually abusing the cow.

“When Tshuma saw his wife, he just froze and could not even muster the energy to say a word. The wife, unsure of how her husband will react, rushed back to the house in disbelief,” said a villager who chose anonymity.

Tshuma could not stomach his guilt and shame, he allegedly took the rope he had used to tie the cow to a pole and shouted to her wife saying he was going to hang himself.

Tshuma’s wife rushed back to the Kraal and pleaded with her husband not to end his life saying she would never tell a single soul about what he had done.

By this time Tshuma had already tied the rope around a tree branch and tied a noose around his neck ready to jump to his death. His horrified wife started screaming for help as she realised that her husband was not bluffing.

However, it was too late, Tshuma jumped while his wife watched in disbelief, she climbed the tree that the rope was fastened to and tried in vain to cut the rope.

When villagers arrived they saw Tshuma’s lifeless corpse hanging from the tree.
