Four persons in Tamil Nadu uprooted an ATM machine and fled after they were unable to open it and loot money.

The incident took place in the Tiruppur area of Tamil Nadu. The ATM kiosk located in Sarkar Periyapalayam on Tirupur-Uthukkuli road was targeted by the four notorious men.

The incident came to light when some people went to the Bank of Baroda ATM only to find that the door was shattered and the machine was missing.

The incident took place at around 4.30 pm on Sunday and was caught on the CCTV camera. As per the footage, four men wearing masks went to the ATM and carried the machine to the gate. The man loaded the machine into a vehicle and secured it with ropes.

As per bank officials, cash worth Rs 15 lakh was deposited in the ATM on February 19 and around Rs 1.5 lakh was left in the ATM until Sunday, The News Minute reported.

Bank officials claimed that proper security arrangements were not made at the ATM and no security guards were deployed for the night shift for the last two years.

After being informed about the robbery, the local police registered a case and launched a probe to nab the accused. The car used by the accused to flee with the machine was reportedly found abandoned near Vijayamangalam near Perundurai in Erode district.
