The plane carrying Malawi’s first 360,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine has touched down at Kamuzu International Airport (KIA) in the capital Lilongwe.
The Emirates Cargo plane touched down at exactly 4 pm. Government officials, diplomats and other officials are receiving the consignment.
The vaccines will start being administered two weeks from now.
According to information at hand, President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera and his Vice Dr. Saulos Chilima will be the first to receive the vaccine followed by government officials.
Others on the list are frontline health workers, teachers and others.
