The High Court in Lilongwe has adjourned the injunction interpartes hearing involving Prophet Shepherd Bushiri of Enlighten Christian Gathering (ECG) church to March 16, 2021.

Bushiri and his wife Mary obtained court injunction restraining the police from effecting any arrests on the two regarding the extradition case currently in the court.

The interpartes hearing was being presided over by Justice Kenyatta Nyirenda.

After the interpartes hearing, Bushiri and his wife will be heading to the magistrate court to answer the extradition case.

Bushiri’s lawyer Wapona Kita confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.

“There is the actual extradition case before the magistrates’ court and there is the inter-partes hearing involving the injunction. The law says when there are two matters, you go to the one at the High Court. Which means we expect another day for the beginning of the extradition case,” Kita said.
