Namibia – A 29-YEAR-OLD man died on Saturday after a female assailant stabbed him with a kitchen knife.

According to the weekly Namibian Police crime report, the man and his wife were sleeping when the drunk suspect entered the house in the company of two other people.

The suspect allegedly kicked open the door, leading to a fight with the man’s wife. When he tried to stop them, the suspect stabbed him once in the chest with a kitchen knife and he died at the scene. Police have informed his next of kin and arrested the suspect.

In a separate incident, a 19-year-old victim, Mario Garoeb, was attacked with sticks and pangas by suspects from //Nam-#abis post, Usakos district.

The incident took place on Saturday morning after the victim and another farmer worked on a broken water pipe.

According to police spokesperson deputy commissioner Kauna Shikwambi, Garoeb was assaulted for closing the main water pipe, which supplies water to different houses in the area.

Shikwambi said during the commotion, the victim stabbed one suspect in the head, leaving an open wound.

The victim’s two-year-old daughter was also hit with a stone on the left cheek, which caused swelling, and she received medical treatment at Usakos Hospital and was discharged.

The victim was transferred to Katutura State Hospital in Windhoek in a critical condition and unconscious. Police investigations continue.
