The 84-year old world leader for Roman Catholic Church Pope Francis has departed Iraq for Rome after wrapping up his four days apostolic tour.
Pope Francis departed Iraq for Rome through Baghdad airport.
During his stay in Iraq the Pope visited conflict-torn cities, he also met Muslim and Christian leaders to whom he preached peace and coexistence.
The Pope covered more than 1, 400 kilometers inside the country.
He gave encouragement to diminished Christian community and extended a hand to Shiite Muslims by meeting top clerk Grand Ayatollah Ali Sistani.
In his packed three full days stay in Iraq, Pope Francis made more than half-dozen speeches in many cities.
Pope Francis vowed to visit Iraq despite security concerns and the second wave of Covid-19 pandemic.
