United Democratic Front (UDF) and UTM candidates have pulled out of the 30th March 2021 by election in Nsanje District.
This came to right during vetting exercise which happened on Thursday, 11th of March 2021.
UTM’s Kennedy Jailosi who was contesting in Nsanje North Constituency said he has pulled out of the race because of financial challenges.
“I have pulled out of the race because of financial problems; the party is forthcoming – not for me only, but for everyone contesting on UTM ticket. So, since the party is silent, best option for me is to pull out of the race,” said Jailosi.
On his part, the UDF candidate for Nsanje Central Constituency Laston Saidi Katole said he will not contest since they are in an alliance with Democrat Progressive party whose candidate is Francis Kasaila.
“We are in an alliance with DPP and am not contesting, I will just support Kasaila during this period,” said Katole.
