The high court in Lilongwe has reserved a ruling of an interparty hearing in which Prophet Shepherd Bushiri obtain an injunction blocking the Malawi police from arresting him.

This follows an arrest of a warrant issued by Chief Magistrate Patrick Chirwa against Bushiris upon claims that they wanted to flee Malawi through an air ambulance they hired to airlift their daughter to Kenya to seek medical attention.

Enlightened Christians Gathering leader (ECG) appeared before High Court Judge, Justice Kenyatta Nyirenda and, the court heard arguments from the state and the defense.

Bushiri’s Lawyer Wapona Kita, who also attended the hearing, has disclosed that Justice Nyirenda has advised communicating the date for the ruling on the matter in due time.

Following the development, Kita stressed that this will see the Bushiri live freely in the country.
