President Lazarus Chakwera is today expected to appear before Parliament to answer questions from legislators.

According to a press statement from the State House, Brian Banda, Presidential spokesperson said Chakwera will arrive at Parliament 2pm.

“His Excellency the president Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera will appear before parliament to answer Members’ questions this Wednesday, March 17, 2021,” Banda said.

According to Banda the President’s visit to parliament to answer question is in accomplice with the Constitution.

“President Chakwera goes to Parliament in compliance with section 89(4) of the Constitution which is fulfillment of his promises to govern by law,” he said.

Chakwera failed to appear before parliament last week as he was launching the roll out of AstraZeneca vaccine in Zomba.
