The Blantyre Senior Resident Magistrate’s (SRM) Court has on Wednesday released on bail Esnart Selemani and her daughter, Yankho Selemani for allegedly assaulting a nurse at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital (QECH) in Blantyre.
The two allegedly committed the crime on February 17, 2021.
According to reports, the nurse, Gertrude Moffat, in her capacity as the nurse on duty for ward 5A asked the two to leave the ward due to Covid-19 restrictions.
In his ruling, Senior Resident Magistrate Akya Mwanyongo, granted the two suspects a conditional bail citing that keeping them further in custody is tantamount to obstruction of justice.
