A 55-year-old man in Kenya died on Friday, March 19 while giving a speech at the funeral of his late wife.
Daniel Tauni had just taken to the podium to eulogise his spouse, Janet Koikoi, when he collapsed and later pronounced dead. The incident happened at the couple’s home on Janet’s burial day.
Tauni was taken to Navakholo Sub-County Hospital, where he was confirmed dead shortly after admission.
The deceased’s relatives, Wilson Masike and Nuru Namsonge, said Tauni’s wife succumbed to TB complications last week.
After the unfortunate incident on Friday, Tauni’s body was moved to Webuye County Hospital morgue, whereas his wife’s burial continued, although with deep grief.
It remains unclear what caused Tauni’s fainting, which ended in him dying.
His family members said the deceased had no history of heart problems.
