Officials at Malawi Defence Force have urged the government to establish a permanent water treatment plant so that soldiers can access potable water in Phalombe camp.

This was discussed yesterday with the deputy minister of defence Jean Sendeza in Phalombe camp.

Commandant  for the Camp , Captain  Chikumbutso  Mataka said  that they are  using  ways which are not  sustainable to treat  water which is  tapped  direct from the river .

He had said a development has described as a risky to the lives of the soldiers.
