Mponera trading centre and Dowa Boma residents have expressed their concern with staff from Central Region Water Board schemes that have stopped supplying water to customers.

According to reports the delays are there as a way of registering their discontentment with the coming back of officials who were suspended from CRWB.

The residents say it is unfair to punish them yet they paid water bills.

They have since threatened to take unspecified action against the workers conduct if their taps remain dry.

The two officials who are alleged to have returned to work are Director of Technical services, John Makwinda and Director of Finance and Administration, Ernest Mntawali who were fired last year.

These people they were allegedly fired because of incompetence where among others, the disgruntled CRWB Staff allege that the two officials were not remitting pension funds to old mutual and also the staff were working without protective gear.

Meanwhile Central Region Water Board Spokesperson, Zeferiro Mitumba has aked for more time before comment.
