The South African crown barrier in the Miss Deaf South African beauty pageant has passed on.

According to Miss, Mr, and Mrs. Death South Africa Facebook page, Judith Madi died on Monday, 29 April.

The organization has since issued a statement on their page sending condolences on the passing of Madi.

“It is with great sadness to announce the passing of our beloved Ms. Deaf South Africa 2019 Judith Madi. Our thoughts and condolences are with her family colleagues and loved ones. May she rest in peace,” reads the statement.

Madi was the founder and CEO of Neema Foundation which is a non-profit organization committed to empowering and creating awareness about deaf and hard-of-hearing people particularly women and children.

One of the programs Madi spearheaded is the annual SilentWalk&Run race which took place on September 28 at the Zoo lake last year.

According to the beauty queen, the event was a stepping stone to addressing deaf concerns.

Following her passing on, many took to social media to send their condolences and messages of support to the family and those who knew the Model.
