Government has ordered all refugees and asylum seekers living and plying business outside Dzaleka Refugee Camp to return to the camp within 14 days effective 1st April.

Ministry of Homeland Security Spokesperson Andrew Nyondo has confirmed of the development.

According to Nyondo, the decision is in line with the encampment policy which entails that all refugees and asylum seekers plying business should do so within the camp premises and not anywhere else.

Nyondo further added that failure to comply with the order, the Malawi government will not hesitate but to use necessary force for the refugees and asylum seekers to return to the camp.
