Some members of Christian religion in Chileka, Blantyre have dumped their religion and joined Chipembedzo Cha Makolo Achikuda, saying they want to pray to God through their own ancestral spirits.

Speaking in an interview, Tateh Fred Kwacha said the members will be introduced on Saturday April 17, 2021 at Kanjedza in Chileka, Blantyre.

“I have been invited at Kanjedza in Chileka to welcome and introduce the new members into our religion and we expect issues of this nature will continue from now,” he said.

Tateh further said he is not sure whether the new members would like to know about Chipembedzo Cha Makolo Achikuda. The meeting will start at 1:00 pm and there will be some activities that will spice the occasion.

“Apart from this event, we have another discussion meeting at Jari in Zomba on 25th this month and the meeting is about our religion issues. Traditional Authority for the area will be in attendance,” said Tateh.

Chipembedzo Cha Makolo Achikuda pray to God (Chisumphi) through their forefathers’ ancestral spirits like M’ bona of Khuluvi in Nsanje and Makewana of Nsinja in Lilongwe and they also do sacrifices in times of disasters like floods, hunger and disease outbreaks.
